We are looking to build out our editorial team to help us ensure quality control on a variety of deliverables. The ideal candidate is a highly skilled editor of fiction, nonfiction, and content writing, and has a desire to work collaboratively.

This is a remote, freelance (1099) position, approximately 5-20 hours a week, that requires a response time of 24 hours or less.

Responsibilities

• A super detailed editorial eye and the ability to catch typos or other egregious errors
• Extensive knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th edition, and AP Style
• Ability to review and assess project deliverables for style, grammar, and product specifications
• Experience and demonstrated ability to follow detailed style and process guides
• Experience using Microsoft Word's Track Changes function as well as editing in Google Drive

A successful candidate will

• Have a finely honed knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style, 18th edition (and a passing knowledge of other style guides, chiefly the Associated Press Stylebook)
• Be able to work across multiple clients, learning their different style guides and standards
• Be organized and confident. You are flexible, composed, and able to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
• Be tech savvy and comfortable interacting, training, and completing assignments in a remote environment (Google Drive, Slack, Dropbox, etc.)
• Be able to follow detailed process documents
