Job summary

Solomon Page Fashion & Beauty in New York City is seeking a Freelance Product Development Associate to support woven product categories including outerwear and bottoms. This hybrid role requires at least 3 days onsite per week and involves collaboration with vendors, merchants, and the Director of Product Development.

Responsibilities include cost analysis, sourcing, and maintaining PLM records to ensure on-time delivery and accurate POs.

Qualifications

• Calendar management experience.

• Excellent communication & presentation skills (listening & negotiation).
• Detail oriented, resourceful, proactive in gathering information & driving solutions.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Centric PLM, DTS.

• Daily tracking and record-keeping for the PLM system and proto samples.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Performs operational functions supporting designated product categories.
• Assists the Director of Product Development in the development of product from initial design concept to placement to production to shipment of an item.
• Anticipates potential problems and risks; generates ideas, insights and solutions to resolve or avoid potential problems; proposes solutions to Director.
• Reviews historical costing to determine targets.
• Analyzes, negotiates and confirms costing from factories.
• Creates and maintains cost logs from sketch to proto phase.
• Monitors milestone calendars to ensure that deadlines are met, issues are flagged, and updates to the team are timely.
• Maintains effective communication with vendors and agents to ensure shipments are delivered on time; troubleshoots and resolves any issues that arise.
• Supports the issuance of Proto orders via system as necessary.
• Perform daily tracking and maintain records of details, updates, changes for (PLM) system and proto samples ensuring due dates are met.
• Demonstrates understanding of price value relationship.
• Takes initiative to utilize product knowledge to find new resources and creative methods of sourcing product to impact the assortment.
• Provides relevant data to merchants for PO issuance and ensures accuracy before sending completed PO to vendor.
• Supports continual development and refining of work flow, processes and tools in partnership with the Director.
• Establishes and cultivates strong relationships with all internal and external business partners.
