Job summary

Swift + Company in Houston is seeking a freelance photographer with a strong eye for art direction to bring projects from concept to completion.

You will work directly with our Brand Communications Director to capture people, products, and creative processes, delivering outstanding imagery across product, event, and editorial shoots. This is a flexible, part‑time contract offering creative freedom and cross-disciplinary opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Photograph product and e-commerce imagery for website and rentals.
• Capture events, including evenings and weekends during busy periods.
• Shoot behind-the-scenes content in floral studio and kitchens.
• Collaborate on editorial and campaigns' direction and styling.
• Post-production: edit, retouch, color-correct for digital/print.
• Assist in design and content creation for print and digital assets.
• Handle asset management, shoot logistics, and communications.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a talented, self-motivated freelance photographer with a strong eye for art direction and the ability to take projects from concept to completion.

Working directly with our Brand Communications Director, you’ll help capture the people, products, and creative processes behind Swift + Company.

We’re in our busiest season, so we need someone who can jump right in, work independently, and deliver exceptional work without extensive direction.

This is a flexible, part‑time contract opportunity offering creative freedom, varied assignments, and the chance to work across multiple creative disciplines.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Product + E-Commerce Photography:Shoot and edit product imagery for our website and rental collections.
• Event Photography:Capture professional event photography, primarily using long‑exposure techniques. Assignments may occur 1–3 times per week during busy periods, including occasional evenings and weekends.
• Behind‑the‑Scenes Content:Capture compelling imagery in our floral studio, catering kitchen, and other creative departments.
• Editorial + Campaign Shoots:Collaborate on the creative direction, styling, and execution of editorial and marketing campaigns.
• Post‑Production:Edit, retouch, color‑correct, and prepare imagery for digital and print applications.
• Design & Content Creation:Assist in designing materials for print, digital, packagingand out‑of‑home.
• OccasionalAdministrative Work:Asset/file managementand organization, overseeing photoshoot logistics, waivers and proper project communication. General day‑to‑day needs of the marketing department.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Strong photography skills, excellent composition, and a natural eye for art direction.
• Proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
• Experience with long‑exposure photography, studio lighting, and challenging lighting conditions.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and execute projects independently.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach.
• Experience in graphic design, videography, and other Adobe Creative Cloud applications is a plus.
• Videography and video editing is a big plus.
• Someone open to learning new things and excited by challenges.

CONTRACT DETAILS

• Independent contractor (1099) arrangement at $35/hour.
• Flexible, part‑time assignments based on project needs and mutually agreed availability.
• Photography assignments take place at our Houston facilities and event locations. This is not a remote photography position.
• The contractor will submit invoices for completed work in accordance with the agreed billing schedule.
• A completed IRS Form W-9 and signed independent contractor agreement will be required before beginning work.
• Some evening and weekend availability is needed for event coverage.
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s licenseand the ability to drive.
