Job summary

Plaid Inc. seeks a Fraud Intelligence Lead to build and run a high-leverage team responsible for live casework across Protect, IDV, and Payments/ACH. You’ll hire, coach, and stay close to investigations while guiding the team to improve product and models.

You will own coverage, coordinate across Fraud and Payments pods, report trends to the Head of Fraud, and translate complex signals into actionable insights and roadmap input for engineering and data science.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied fraud experience in a high-velocity environment.
• Investigator mindset with pattern synthesis and triage skills.
• End-to-end investigation experience reconstructing attacker intent.
• Post-containment incident response with root cause emphasis.
• Dark and grey-web navigation and external intelligence translation.
• Strong communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluency with data environments and investigative toolchains.
• SQL for deep data querying and exploratory analysis.
• Python for scripting and analytics workflows.

Responsibilities

• Team Building & People Leadership: set quality bar and coach analysts.
• Operating Model: allocate coverage across pods and manage staffing.
• Reporting & Escalation: track health and emerging risks.
• Live Fraud Investigation & Reconstruction: lead complex cases and hypotheses.
• Product & Model Partnership: collaborate with DS/ML and product teams.
• Ecosystem Monitoring: surveil external fraud trends and threats.
