Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Banking Software preferably Horizon, Horizon XE, and/or Image Centre preferred.
  • Knowledge of BSA monitoring software preferably BAM or BAM+ preferred.

Position Summary:

Responsible for supporting various tasks for the Fraud, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC), spaces within Pioneer. The Fraud Associate will assist with supporting department operations through the investigation of fraud cases and supporting the Financial Crimes Investigator(s) where necessary. In addition, the individual will be responsible for performing transaction reviews, account monitoring of subjects, reviewing public records / social media, maintaining fraud reporting, speaking with customers and/or Bank staff, and communicating with law enforcement where applicable. Ultimately, supporting and aiding in active fraud investigations to prevent losses to the Bank.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Works with the VP - Financial Crimes Investigations on active and/or ongoing fraud investigations. Including but not limited to:
    • Reviewing transactions for suspicious activity
    • Reviewing account documentation
    • Reviewing customer information for potential suspicious activity
    • Public record searches such as social media
    • Interviewing suspects, customers, or bank staff
    • Discussing fraud prevention with potential fraud victims
    • Communicate and coordinate with law enforcement or other financial institutions as needed
  • Assist the Financial Crimes Investigator(s) with the gathering of additional documentation for investigations, organizing case files/notes, tracking of fraud through the Bank, and review of suspicious activity.
  • Assists other Financial Crimes Compliance employees in tasks necessary to perform the overall management of the Program.
  • Reviews and responds to incoming fraud-related inquiries from all other business lines.
  • Identifies potential fraud and assists in the investigation of fraud as needed.
  • Maintains detailed documentation of all processes used to satisfy above activities.
  • Identifies customer activity deemed suspicious or potentially fraudulent and assists Financial Crime Compliance Analysts and Investigators. Responsible for possible SAR filings as needed.
Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma required. Associate's degree in Business, Finance, Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years banking experience preferred.
  • Experience with interviewing suspects or communicating with customers preferred.
  • Knowledge of Banking Software preferably Horizon, Horizon XE, and/or Image Centre preferred.
  • Knowledge of BSA monitoring software preferably BAM or BAM+ preferred.
  • Above average organizational and communication skills with an ongoing sense of urgency to meet and exceed deadlines.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule when needed.
  • Strong ability to analyze and report relevant data.
  • Must maintain current industry knowledge and keep pace with current fraud trends.
  • Commitment to continuing education, attends related conferences and obtains related certifications as requested.
  • Active participation in ongoing training to stay current with compliance regulations.
