Job summary

Memorial Hermann Medical Group is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible OB/GYN to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in a Federally Qualified Health Center setting in Southwest Houston. The physician will manage prenatal through postpartum care, perform gynecologic procedures, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to improve women’s health outcomes.

Candidate will have an MD or DO, Texas medical license, and experience in underserved populations.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Current Texas medical license or eligibility.
  • Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive OB/GYN care from prenatal to postpartum.
  • Perform gynecologic exams, screenings, and related procedures.
  • Coordinate care with Maternal-Fetal Medicine and other specialists.

The physician is responsible for preventive care, diagnosis, treatment, prenatal care, labor and delivery, surgical procedures, family planning, and management of acute and chronic gynecologic conditions. This position promotes high-quality clinical outcomes while supporting the mission, values, and quality standards of the organization. The OB/GYN Physician delivers evidence-based care to medically underserved populations while emphasizing preventive medicine, health education, continuity of care, and interdisciplinary collaboration.Duties and Responsibilities* Women's Preventive Health* Perform comprehensive annual well-woman examinations.* Conduct cervical cancer screening, breast examinations, and preventive health assessments* Diagnose and manage common gynecologic conditions* Provide menopause management and counseling* Promote healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care* Obstetrical Care* Provide comprehensive prenatal care from conception through delivery, where appropriate and credentialed* Manage both routine and high-risk pregnancies within the physician's scope of practice* Perform labor and delivery services* Conduct postpartum evaluations and follow-up care* Coordinate care with Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists when appropriate* Interpret fetal monitoring and diagnostic testingGynecologic Care* Diagnose and treat disorders of the female reproductive system* Evaluate abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, infertility, endometriosis, ovarian disorders, and sexually transmitted infectionsPerform office procedures including:* Endometrial biopsy* Colposcopy* IUD insertion and removal* Nexplanon insertion and removal* Cervical biopsies* Incision and drainage procedures* Provide family planning services and contraceptive counselingSurgical Services* May perform surgical procedures consistent with hospital privileges, including:* Cesarean section* Hysterectomy* Dilation and Curettage (D&C)* Laparoscopic procedures* Tubal ligation* Treatment of ectopic pregnancy* Other gynecologic surgeries as credentialedDiagnostic Services* Order and interpret
