Job summary

Jobtailor in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a finance professional to drive FP&A for manufacturing operations. You will support monthly forecasting, annual planning, and management reporting, partnering with cross‑functional leaders to identify risks and opportunities.

The role requires 5+ years in Finance with 3+ in FP&A, a strong accounting foundation, and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint. CPA/CMA preferred but not required; knowledge of SAP/HFM is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, and/or Business Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance with strong FP&A background.
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A within a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required.
  • Strong accounting foundation including month-end journal entries and analysis.
  • Proficient Excel and PowerPoint; SAP and HFM experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support monthly forecasting and annual plan processes for factory income statement and balance sheet accounts.
  • Partner with cross-functional managers to create monthly forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly and weekly reporting and present it to management.
  • Analyze factory performance; perform manufacturing projections and sensitivity analysis.
  • Review and analyze productivity plans, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries with a focus on working with department leaders to ensure factory expenses are accurately reported.
  • Support the fixed asset process by reconciling Capital in Progress and assisting with capitalization and retirement.
  • Ensure GAAP & Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and prepare for internal & external audits.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide accounting support to plant leadership.

  • Support the fixed asset process by reconciling Capital in Progress, overseeing the capitalization and retirement of assets, and assisting with the capital forecast
  • Ensure preparation of financial information is in accordance with GAAP & Sarbanes‑Oxley and prepare company for internal & external audits
  • Perform ad‑hoc analysis and provide accounting support to plant leadership
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, and/or Business Administration
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance
  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A
  • CPA or CMA preferred but not required
  • Experience in financial planning & analysis in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong accounting foundation, including experience preparing month‑end journal entries, analyzing account activity, and applying accounting theory to evaluate and resolve complex transactions
  • Strong MS Office skills with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) a plus
  • Strong project management skills with attention to detail and delivering a quality work product on time
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and able to manage multiple, conflicting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to identify and implement process improvements within the finance department to streamline the month‑end close and forecasting processes
  • Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and internal controls procedures
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the USA
