Job summary

Etched in San Jose is seeking a finance leader to help leadership answer big questions about investment, scaling, and growth in the next 12–24 months. You will build financial models and planning infrastructure as the company grows, shaping the finance function alongside leadership.

This early-stage role offers the chance to create processes from scratch, work cross-functionally, and operate with urgency to deliver clear, data-driven narratives for senior leaders.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of professional experience in a high-performance environment.
• Strong financial modeling skills, particularly in Excel; you think in spreadsheets.
• Exceptional organizational skills - you bring structure, standardization, and rigor to everything you touch.
• Clear, concise communicator who is comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
• Bias toward action and urgency; you don’t wait to be told what to do.
• Comfort with ambiguity and building processes from zero in a fast-paced environment.
• Low ego, high ownership - you’re willing to roll up your sleeves on whatever needs doing.

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end budgeting and planning cycles. Own the annual budget process, quarterly reforecasts, and rolling financial plans that keep leadership aligned on where the business is heading.
• Build, maintain, and continuously improve Excel-based financial models. Develop forward-looking forecasts that inform strategic decisions across the company.
• Analyze and maintain financial data systems. Ensure data integrity, streamline reporting pipelines, and turn raw financial data into clear, actionable insights.
• Communicate crisply and directly to senior leadership. Identify key stakeholders, manage relationships across functions, and translate financial complexity into straightforward narratives.
• Standardize workflows and stand up FP&A processes from scratch. You are the first of a function. Key to this role is developing processes that are designed to scale.
• Operate with a high-urgency mindset. When leadership needs something, you respond with speed and precision escalating, filling gaps, and delivering under tight timelines.

Job Summary

This role goes beyond explaining last month's variance. You will help leadership answer the company's biggest questions: Where should we invest? How should we scale? What does growth look like over the next 12 to 24 months? Your financial models and planning will directly influence the decisions that shape the business.
You'll join at an early stage where many of the systems, processes, and planning infrastructure are still being built. This gives you the opportunity to create and shape the finance function alongside company leadership.

Key Responsibilities
