Responsibilities

• Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study to meet diverse student needs and abilities.
• Assist in establishing department or grade-level curriculum objectives and evaluation plans.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student maturity and interests.
• Guide learning to achieve curriculum goals and set clear lesson objectives.
• Employ instructional methods and materials aligned with objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide required reports.
• Diagnose student strengths/weaknesses and involve district specialists as needed.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Help administer school policies and establish classroom rules and procedures.
• Plan and supervise assignments for support staff and volunteers.
• Use technology effectively in teaching and learning.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by policy.
• Perform Medicaid administrative claims activities as directed per SDAC Guide.
• Adhere to Ethics Code and district policies.
• Support school improvement initiatives through participation in activities and programs.
• Recognize signs of student distress or abuse and act per procedures.
• Establish appropriate testing environments and test security.
