Job summary

Barrick is seeking a Mine Engineer II/III for the Fourmile Project in Nevada. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including mining engineers, geologists, and hydrogeologists to design, plan, and optimize underground operations.

Responsibilities include reporting, design, audits, drilling coordination, and budget forecasting. Strong communication and computer skills are essential to drive efficiency and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mining Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 5 years underground mining engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of US mining regulations and engineering standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organization is required.
• Excellent time and productivity management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Vulcan, Deswik, and Ventsim.

Responsibilities

• Produce mine production reports and track site KPIs.
• Oversee mine design and short- and long-range planning.
• Audit site compliance and identify efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with geology/exploration for drilling and reconciliation.
• Design and as-built layouts for underground development and services.

Position Description:

Our people division is growing, and we are looking for a Mine Engineer II or III to join our Fourmile Project Team. The successful candidate will be part of a team of mining engineers, operations personnel, geologists, geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists and other technical specialists. Working within and learning from a diverse team of mining professionals

Responsibilities:

• Production reporting of mine physicals, track site KPIs and evaluate opportunities for improvement
• Accountable for the mine design and mine planning, both short and long range.
• Complete regular audits of site to ensure compliance to standards and look for opportunities to improve efficiencies
• Work closely with geology/exploration to plan and complete exploration and in-fill drilling in advance of mining, and complete mine-to-mill reconciliation
• Responsible for the design and as-built layouts of all mine development and services for the Underground
• Creation and monitoring of site forecasts and budgets
• Provide focused review of site deliverables to ensure completeness, clarity and accuracy, preparation of presentations and reports as required
• Coordinate with mine operations to ensure plan compliance and to minimize disruptions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent required
• A minimum of 5 years of underground Mining Engineering experience required
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles and a demonstrated knowledge of US engineering standards and mining regulations required
• Strong presentation and verbal skills. Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in both written and verbal forms across all levels of the organization in a clear manner required
• Excellent time and productivity management skills required
• Excellent computer skills including: Microsoft Office, Vulcan, Deswik, Ventsim required
