Job summary

The Vet Service in Shelburne, MA is seeking an experienced Small Animal Associate Veterinarian to join a long-established companion animal hospital with a relaxed environment and predictable daytime hours. The four-day work week, no weekends, and no emergency duties provide autonomy while maintaining high-quality care.

The role emphasizes sole-charge periods, routine consultations, dentistry, and soft tissue procedures, with opportunities to expand services and possibly pursue future ownership

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary qualification with eligibility for Massachusetts licensure.
• Previous small animal clinical experience.
• Ability to perform routine consultations, dentistry, surgery independently.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied schedule of small animal consultations and medical work-ups.
• Performing routine soft tissue surgery and a broad range of dental procedures.
• Using in-house diagnostics and digital imaging to investigate and manage cases.
• Working independently and taking responsibility for clinical decisions during sole-charge periods.
• Building lasting relationships with clients through practical, personalised veterinary care.
