Job description

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology can change lives for the better. It can heal us, entertain us, and make us more connected, productive, and understanding of the world around us. And we’re looking for talent who feel the same: people who want to leave the planet better than they found it, those who don’t shy away from humanity’s challenges but are determined to help solve them.

AMD is powering the next generation of supercomputing, high-performance computing, cloud, and AI. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or creating go-to-market plans, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward.

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a technically driven professional to lead technology and design enablement for advanced silicon technology. The candidate will work cross-functionally with internal design, architecture, technology and product engineering teams to ensure that power, performance, and area (PPA) objectives are achieved in alignment with product requirements, while helping enabling process design kits, IP, and design/verification collateral to production readiness.

THE PERSON:

This role requires a candidate with a proactive mindset and the ability to work independently, while also demonstrating strong collaboration skills within a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate pairs a solid foundation in semiconductor technology development with familiarity in industry-standard IC design and verification flows. Typically, the candidate will hold a degree in related field with over 8 years of relevant experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with internal design, architecture, technology and product teams to align foundry process with product performance, power, and area (PPA) targets.
  • Drive technology development and product evaluation by ensuring the appropriate readiness of process design kits (PDKs) and design/verification flows.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with internal and external teams to support process technology and product definitions, testchip and product designs, design-for-manufacturing (DFM) practice definition, and silicon analysis and debug.
  • Support technology-to-product issue resolution from early technology evaluation to NPI phases, proposing data-driven solutions for device, interconnect, or yield challenges.
  • Coordinate with reliability and packaging teams to evaluate and mitigate product reliability and Si-package interaction risks.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in semiconductor process integration, DTCO (design technology co-optimization), yield engineering, or foundry enablement.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard digital and mixed-signal IC design and verification flows and major EDA tools.
  • Hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor technology nodes (3nm/2nm-equivalent and beyond).
  • Understanding of device physics, process variability, and wafer-level reliability.
  • Familiarity with NPI silicon bring-up, data analysis, and yield debug methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to operate effectively across internal organizations and with external partners.
  • Understanding of advanced 2.5D/3D packaging technologies is a plus.
EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science, preferably with advanced degree (MS or PhD)

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
