Job summary

Farrar Corporation is seeking a skilled Foundry Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair a range of foundry machinery, including furnaces, molding equipment, conveyors, and cooling systems. This is a hands-on, on-site role on the 2nd shift (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) in Norwich, KS.

You will perform inspections, diagnose issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and document work while complying with safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience as a mechanic in manufacturing or foundry environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems; reading schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of foundry machinery including furnaces, molding equipment, conveyors, and cooling systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective actions to restore equipment to proper working conditions.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on foundry equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal operational impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations while working on machinery.
