Job summary

The Children’s Home Society of South Dakota seeks a Therapeutic School Administrator to lead a new therapeutic day school in Aberdeen, SD. You will help establish the culture, systems, instructional practices, student supports, and community partnerships needed to launch and grow the program.

You will work with CHS Operations and School Leadership to implement a trauma-informed model, supervise staff, and ensure high-quality educational services that support students’ growth academically,

Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
Current South Dakota educator certification is required.
Preferred: SD Elementary/Middle School Principal certification; and/or SD Special Education Administrator endorsement.

Responsibilities

Lead School Development: establish educational model, culture, procedures and daily operations for the Aberdeen school.
Provide Educational Leadership: lead instructional practices, student programming, and behavioral supports.
Lead and Develop the Team: provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, coaching and collaboration.
Support Special Education Services: ensure appropriate educational services and supports.
Build District and Family Partnerships: engage families, districts and community partners in planning.
Support Student Growth: collaborate to support academic, behavioral, social, and emotional development.
