Job summary

Momentum Research Labs is building a world-model based simulator for training and evaluating robot policies. As Founding Research Scientist, you will lead research behind trustworthy evaluation, including action-conditioned world models that generate robot rollouts and reward models guiding policy learning.

This broad, high-impact role blends model training, evaluation design, software development, and direct customer collaboration to deploy real robots.

Qualifications

• Experience with end-to-end training of large generative models and reinforcement learning for robotics.
• Proven ability to design and ship evaluations that reflect real policy performance.
• Experience training models across multiple GPUs and nodes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the training and research of action-conditioned world models powering our simulator and evaluations.
• Craft reward models that capture task success and provide learning signals for policies.
• Design and ship evaluations to reveal model strengths, weaknesses, and customer-relevant improvements.
• Collaborate with customers to understand evaluation needs and support deployment of robots.
• Shape the research direction for a founding team across world models, robot learning, and production systems.
