Job summary

Open Standard in San Francisco is seeking a Founding Product Engineer who can turn ambiguous problems into products people actually use. You will work across APIs, backend systems, data, integrations, internal tools, and user-facing products with strong ownership and close collaboration with customers and the founding team.

This role will shape product direction, technical architecture, and engineering culture as the team grows.

About Open Standard

Open Standard is building internet-native money.

We believe that much like data moved to the cloud, dollars will move on-chain. As this transition occurs, stablecoins will become core financial infrastructure. To do that, we are building Open USD (https://ousd.xyz/). OUSD is live across Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo, with Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe, and Visa as founding partners.

We are still very early, and the engineers joining now will shape both the product and the company.

About the Role

We are looking for a Founding Product Engineer who can take ambiguous problems and turn them into products people actually use.

You will work across APIs, backend systems, data, integrations, internal tools, and user-facing products. There may not be a detailed PRD waiting for you. We expect you to understand the problem, make product and technical decisions, and build.

This role will have outsized influence on our product direction, technical foundations, engineering culture, and how the team grows from here.

We also want engineers who are highly AI native and already use coding agents and AI tools to materially change how they work.
