Nectar Social in Palo Alto is seeking a Founding Mobile Engineer to own and define the mobile experience, architecting and building the platform from the ground up. You will shape foundational technical decisions for delivering AI-powered social commerce to brand teams.

This highly autonomous role offers direct influence on product direction, engineering standards, and collaboration with product, design, and leadership to ship features that bring Nectar's AI capabilities to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering with React Native and mobile apps.
• Proven track record shipping production mobile applications.
• Strong mobile architecture, navigation and state management.
• Experience integrating external APIs and real-time features.
• Comfortable working across the stack in a fast-paced startup environment.
• High ownership mindset and ability to operate in ambiguity.
• Product intuition and willingness to shape what gets built.

Responsibilities

• Own the mobile platform end-to-end for iOS and Android using React Native.
• Build AI-powered mobile experiences surfacing insights and real-time interactions.
• Establish architecture patterns, shared components, testing strategies, CI/CD, and performance standards.
• Integrate with social APIs (TikTok, Meta, Instagram) and Shopify-like systems.
• Collaborate with product, design and founders to shape product and tech direction.
• Maintain reliability and performance through monitoring and optimization.
