Job summary

BackOps AI is seeking a Founding Finance & Accounting Lead to design the financial backbone as the company scales from dozens to hundreds of employees. You will own financial fundamentals while partnering with the CEO and leaders to improve visibility, forecasting, and decision‑making.

You'll lead the close, manage accounting operations, and design scalable policies and processes that grow with the business. This hands‑on role requires ownership mindset and collaborative cross‑functional work.

Qualifications

• Experience owning or contributing to monthly close and GAAP‑compliant reporting.
• Strong accounting foundation with finance operations exposure.
• Ability to build budgets, forecasts, and financial models for planning.
• Familiarity with AI business models, ARR, and growth metrics.
• Proven cross‑functional partner to executives on strategic planning.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with GAAP reporting.
• Oversee AP/AR, billing, collections, cash management, and expenses.
• Coordinate with external firm on tax, audits, and technical accounting.
• Design scalable policies, controls, and finance processes.
• Manage banking, working capital, and spend with automation.
• Build budgets, forecasts, models, and scenario analyses.
• Deliver dashboards and insights to improve visibility and decisions.
• Support budgeting, resource allocation, and operating cost planning.
• Assist with fundraising, board reporting, and investor diligence.
