Job summary

Elon University invites applications for a Principal Faculty member in the new Physician Assistant Studies Program in Charlotte. The faculty member will join the founding team, lead the launch and ongoing improvement of the program, and be responsible for course development, instructional design, assessment strategy, and student success.

The role includes directing academic courses, coordinating didactic and clinical content, and serving as lecturer, lab instructor, and evaluator.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in physician assistant studies or equivalent.
• Prior teaching experience in higher education or health professions education strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated clinical experience (minimum three years strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead launch and ongoing improvement of the Charlotte PA Studies program.
• Direct academic courses: sequence, delivery, and evaluation of content; implement student evaluation.
• Serve as lecturer, lab instructor, small-group facilitator, and evaluator in assigned courses.
• Establish relationships with clinical partners and preceptors to support student training.
• Participate in admissions activities and recruitment; represent the program at community events.
• Advise and provide academic counseling for students in academic and clinical phases.
• Attend departmental, School of Health Sciences, and University committees as elected or appointed.
