Job summary

Aran Industries seeks an engineer to own structural automation from foundations to complex equipment supports, delivering real designs on live projects. You will build a parametric engine enabling repeatable structural analysis and documentation for future sites.

You will collaborate with existing automation efforts, accelerating current workflows rather than starting from scratch. A first-principles approach and ability to ship code with AI tools are essential.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of statics, dynamics, materials, and load paths.
• Experience designing, analyzing, or building real structures or complex load-bearing systems.
• Ability to work from first principles rather than relying solely on established workflows or software outputs.
• Capacity to ship code using AI tools today, even without formal software engineering training.
• Strong technical judgment and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural engineering packages for live projects including foundations, steel and concrete structures, equipment supports, loading calculations and construction docs.
• Build parametric workflows for automated analysis, sizing, optimization, 3D modeling, and drawing generation.
• Integrate structural analysis tools (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, or similar) into automated workflows.
• Connect structural design with civil, electrical, and mechanical systems so changes update designs automatically.
• Use AI coding agents to develop and ship the automation engine.

Job description

You own structural engineering automation for our data center and industrial projects, from foundations to complex equipment-support systems.

You’ll deliver real structural designs on live projects and build the parametric engine that makes structural analysis and documentation repeatable for any future site.

You’ll work closely with our existing structural and architectural automation efforts, accelerating what we’ve already built rather than starting from zero.

We care far more about your understanding of mechanics, materials, and load paths than your familiarity with a particular software package.

What you’ll achieve

• Deliver structural engineering packages for live projects: foundation design, steel and concrete structures, equipment supports, loading calculations, connection design, and construction documentation.
• Build parametric structural design workflows that automate analysis, sizing, optimization, 3D modeling, and drawing generation.
• Integrate structural analysis tools (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD, or similar) into automated workflows.
• Connect structural design with civil, electrical, and mechanical systems so equipment changes, loads, and site constraints automatically update the structural design.
• Use AI coding agents (Claude Code and similar) to develop and ship the automation engine.

You must

• Understand structural mechanics deeply — statics, dynamics, material behavior, load paths, stability, and failure modes.
• Have designed, analyzed, or built real physical structures or complex load-bearing systems.
• Be capable of working from first principles rather than relying entirely on established workflows or software outputs.
• Be able to ship code with AI tools today, even without prior software engineering experience.
• Have exceptional technical judgment and ownership.

You do not need to

• Hold a PE or SE license (helpful, not required).
• Have worked on data centers or conventional buildings.
• Have a CS degree or traditional software development background.
• Have spent years working in an engineering consultancy.

Full-time | Remote (US or Canada, excluding Quebec) | US$150k-$250k or CA$215k-CA$355k base + founding-team equity
