Job summary

Altis is building its Founding Engineering team in New York City to speed up research workflows and deliver AI-native, high-impact tooling. You’ll own product roadmaps, work with the CEO, and scale the engineering function from a seed team toward a larger organization.

The role emphasizes shipping usable software, aligning delivery with business goals, and shaping architecture for API access and data-driven research. NYC presence is expected four days a week.

Qualifications

• Shipping software that users actually adopt.
• Ability to commit to delivery timelines and flag risks.
• Strong communication with technical peers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI-native, LLM- or RAG-powered products.

Responsibilities

• Own roadmap and delivery of internal research-enablement tooling.
• Meet delivery dates or flag slippage early and clearly.
• Collaborate on architecture decisions, incl. API/MCP access for customers.
• Report to CEO as a technical thought partner on product choices.
• Establish engineering processes for a growing team.
