The ideal candidate will have strong CS fundamentals, experience in a fast-paced startup, and proficiency in tools like Cursor, Supabase, and TypeScript. You will maintain data pipelines and deliver features with a focus on collaboration across teams.

As a Founding ML/AI Engineer at Clera, you’ll help shape the intelligence layer of our recruiting marketplace. You’ll own recommendation systems, ranking algorithms, and LLM-powered matching to connect top talent with their dream roles. This role is foundational to how we surface the right opportunities and drive impact for both candidates and employers.

What youll do

• Build and own the AI/ML intelligence layer, including recommendation systems and ranking algorithms.
• Develop LLM-powered matching that improves candidate-role alignment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate product goals into production-ready features.
• Deliver end-to-end features with ownership and shipping to production on a daily cadence.
• Architect and maintain production‑grade data pipelines and services integrated with the stack.

What Clera is looking for

• Strong CS fundamentals and experience delivering end-to-end product features in a fast‑paced startup environment.
• Proficiency with Cursor, Supabase, Prisma, Typesense, LLM APIs, and trigger.dev in production‑grade projects.
• TypeScript and React experience.
• Open to working in hackerhouses in LatAm and has operated in entrepreneurial hacky environments.
• Willing to work 6 days per week.
• Demonstrates something outstanding about their profile (e.g., top GPA, strong projects, active GitHub).
