Job summary

TrueBuilt is seeking a founding engineer to work directly with the CTO to design and develop an industry-leading platform for builders. You will dive deep into the construction domain to build software that serves a diverse customer base.

As a founding engineer, you will own features across the stack, help shape the product, and contribute to architecture, CI/CD, and deployment. This is a remote-first role with equity and the chance to help build a company from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering high-quality software.
• Ability to transform ideas into working software.
• Willingness to work across the full stack.
• Experience with databases, DevOps, CI/CD, or UI/UX design.
• Experience with Next.js is a plus.
• Startup experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with CTO to design and develop MVP features.
• Own features from idea to delivery across the tech stack.
• Participate in early-stage product discussions and architecture.
• Contribute to CI/CD and deployment pipelines.

The Opportunity

Construction accounts for 4.2% of GDP and employs over 7 million people. Year over year, the amount of new construction increases and the industry needs modern software to help builders manage their increasingly complex operations.

As a founding engineer, you will work directly with the CTO to design and develop an industry-leading platform. You will be tasked with becoming deeply familiar with the construction industry in order to build transformative software that meets the needs of a diverse customer base.

TrueBuilt is looking for engineers who:

Construction is the backbone of America, and TrueBuilt aims to be the backbone of the construction industry.

The Tech Stack

The basis of the platform is NextJS & Typescript. Prisma acts as our ORM to connect to a Postgres database.

Github Actions and Vercel power our CI/CD pipeline for rapid development.

Qualifications

• Experienced - You have a proven track record of delivering high quality software
• 0 to 1 - You can take an idea and transform it into working software
• Learning Mindset - You are eager to learn and contribute to all parts of the stack
• Frontend Capable - Break down a design into its component parts and code it
• Experience in one or more: database design, DevOps, CI/CD, UI/UX design
• Experience with NextJS is a plus
• Experience working in a startup is a plus

Your First 30 Days

• Routine pair programming sessions with the CTO
• Meet with our advisers to learn first-hand about their challenges
• Design and implement key features of the MVP
