Job summary

Meet Life Sciences Ltd. is seeking a Founding Product Designer to be the first dedicated design hire for a clinician-facing HealthTech product. You’ll shape the look, feel, and interaction design from core flows to the visual identity, and partner with founders and engineers to ship impactful experiences at scale.

You’ll drive brand, onboarding, discovery, and design systems while owning the product direction and strategy in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

We're partnering with a fast-growing, early-stage HealthTech based in San Francisco building technology that puts better clinical information in the hands of healthcare professionals - at a scale that belies the size of the team behind it.

In healthcare, the interface isn't decoration. When a clinician is making a call, what's in front of them needs to work - instantly, clearly, without friction. Good design here isn't a nice-to-have. It's part of the answer.

They're looking for a Founding Product Designer to become the first dedicated design hire at a highly ambitious startup building a clinician-facing product already being used at significant scale.

You’ll work directly with the founders and engineering team, owning how the product looks, feels, and works. From core product experiences and interactions through to visual identity and design systems.

What you’ll be doing

• Own design across the product and help shape the broader visual identity and brand
• Turn complex workflows and information into simple, intuitive consumer experiences
• Work directly with users to understand behavior, pain points, and opportunities to improve the product
• Take ideas from early concepts and prototypes through to shipped experiences
• Partner closely with engineers to ensure the quality of the final product
• Build and evolve the design system as the company scales
• Work directly with the founders to influence product direction and what gets built next

What we’re looking for

The biggest thing: experience designing consumer-facing apps or digital products & drive.

We’re particularly interested in designers who understand what makes a great consumer product - intuitive interactions, beautiful visual design, thoughtful onboarding and discovery, and experiences that people genuinely enjoy using.

You’ll likely have:

• Strong B2C / consumer product design experience, ideally across mobile or web applications
• Exceptional visual taste across typography, layout, color, interaction, and overall product craft
• Strong product intuition and an ability to simplify complicated experiences
• A high-agency, ownership driven approach. You don’t need a perfectly defined brief to get started
• The ability to move quickly, prototype, gather feedback, and ship without sacrificing quality
• Fluency in Figma and modern design/prototyping tools
• Comfort working very closely with engineers; experience designing in code or using AI coding tools is a big plus

You could have a few years of experience at a fast-moving consumer startup, or be an exceptional recent graduate with strong internships and shipped work. Quality of work, product thinking, taste, and what you’ve personally owned matter far more than tenure.
