Job summary

Navigate AI in SF and NYC is seeking a founding AI Engineer to build the computer vision layer of our real-world video intelligence platform. You will prototype and deploy CV models, working directly with the founding team to ship features that blend AI, video, and spatial data.

You will tackle real-world video challenges, experiment with spatial computing, and help shape the long-term CV strategy while collaborating with product and engineering.

Qualifications

• 2–6+ years of experience in computer vision, CVML, or related applied AI fields.
• Fluent in tools like OpenCV, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or MediaPipe.
• Experience working with video data, multi-view camera inputs, or 3D point clouds.
• Built and deployed CV models in real-world environments (messy, imperfect data).
• Excited about AI + physical world—not just screen-based products.
• Bonus: experience with spatial computing, AR, or platforms like Unity/Unreal.
• Bonus: experience at Waymo, Cruise, Tesla, Meta or research-driven CV roles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time video analysis pipelines (detection, tracking, pose estimation, 3D reconstruction).
• Explore LIDAR, depth data, or SLAM to improve spatial awareness in vision models.
• Fine-tune models using real-world, domain-specific data from the field.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering to ship AI/video features with intuitive UX.
• Experiment with AI prompting or LLM tools to layer intelligence over video data.
• Help shape the long-term CV strategy and technical architecture.
