Job summary

zaimler is building context infrastructure for the agentic era. We seek a Founding Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and own the cloud infrastructure powering our semantic platform. You’ll shape core infra from scratch, enabling scalable ML workloads across AWS, Azure and GCP.

You’ll work with ML researchers and data scientists to ensure infrastructure accelerates development. This is a founding role with equity, onsite in San Mateo, with competitive salary and full benefits.

Qualifications

• 3-10+ years of engineering experience.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes and Terraform in real deployments.
• Experience with distributed systems like Ray or Kafka.
• Proficiency in Python or Go.
• Track record of production-grade infra.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale cloud infra across AWS/Azure/GCP using Kubernetes, Terraform, and IaC tools.
• Enable distributed AI workloads by building compute systems for Ray and Kafka with scalability.
• GPU resource management and scheduling for ML inference, retrieval, and training.
• Drive observability and reliability with monitoring, security, and best practices for ML systems.
• Collaborate with ML researchers and data scientists to accelerate development.
