Job summary

Alder is seeking the first residential property manager in the San Francisco Bay Area to own a portfolio end-to-end. You will manage rentals from single-family homes to small multifamily buildings, while shaping the business as part of an early-stage company.

You will earn based on the doors you manage, with equity upside as the company grows. You will influence playbooks, service standards, and the software you rely on daily, helping Alder scale intelligently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of residential portfolio management experience in the Bay Area.
• Ability to build owner relationships and grow a book of business.
• Familiarity with California landlord-tenant law and local ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of owners and residents across leasing, renewals, rent collection, maintenance, move-ins, and move-outs.
• Run turnovers fast: make-ready, pricing, marketing, showings, screening, and lease signing.
• Provide clear recommendations on repairs, rent increases, or renewals.
• Hold vendors to high standards on price, quality, and response time.
• Grow the portfolio by meeting prospective owners and leveraging referrals.
• Handle challenging situations consistently with local laws and ethics.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve AI-powered workflows for portfolio management.
