Job summary

Security Atlas AI is seeking a Founding AI Backend Engineer to design and build the core infrastructure for our platform. You will work directly with the founder on database architecture, scoring models, APIs, and AI-assisted analysis capabilities to power our risk evaluation engine and governance workflows.

This is a founding role in an early-stage startup, offering high ownership, flexible, remote-first work, and the opportunity to shape AI governance in enterprises.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience with Python or Node.js.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or Supabase.
• Experience building SaaS platforms or API-driven applications.
• Familiarity with LLM APIs or AI-assisted automation workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
• English is the primary working language at Security Atlas AI.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services supporting the Security Atlas AI platform.
• Architect scalable database structures supporting the AI risk evaluation framework.
• Build the AI risk scoring engine used to evaluate AI tools.
• Implement workflows and automations for vendor assessments.
• Integrate LLM capabilities to support analysis and reporting features.
• Develop APIs supporting integrations and platform expansion.
• Optimize system performance and data integrity.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and platform roadmap.
