Mid-level SMEs build on introductory tradecraft and support fundamental GEOINT Tradecraft learning through applied, problem-based instruction.
A Mid-level Foundations SME shall be able to build upon the knowledge taught at the introductory GEOINT Tradecraft learning level (1000), in order to effectively handle fundamental (2000) GEOINT Tradecraft learning level tasks. At this level the SME shall have a thorough understanding of the concepts and skills related to their content area(s) and can apply these skills in routine and non‑routine situations. They shall be able to apply tradecraft skills through problem-based exercises culminating in exams. They shall demonstrate solid tradecraft skills and an understanding of how their tradecraft contributes to addressing key intelligence questions. A Mid‑Level Foundations SME is primarily focused on providing support to Fundamental (2000) GEOINT Tradecraft Learning Level courses, with a secondary focus on Intermediate (3000) GEOINT Tradecraft Learning Level courses, both levels within the Foundations and Collections content area.
