Foster Care Intake Coordinator – Florence

JOB SUMMARY: The Foster Care Intake Coordinator will be responsible for all growth activities of the foster care program, including conducting foster home investigations utilizing the regulations established by the Department of Social Services and overseeing placement activities of foster children into licensed foster homes.

The Foster Care Intake Coordinator will communicate regularly with community service providers to ensure they are aware of the child’s progress and any issues that arise. The Coordinator will hold review meetings involving custodial parents/guardians, clients, resource families, service providers, and interdisciplinary team members. Maintain regular contact with custodial parents/guardians and notify them of medication changes, critical incidents, and medical concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in a Human Service field or a Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year experience working with clients in foster care, or an Associate’s Degree with two (2) years of experience in residential child group or foster care, or four (4) years of experience at Epworth.

REQUIRED SKILLS: Knowledge of or willingness to learn skills in counseling, case management, and social work. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms. Proficiency with various software programs.
