Job summary

Epworth Children's Home is seeking an Intake Coordinator to lead growth, licensing and placement activities for its foster care program. The role involves screening, applicant processing, and coordinating investigations to ensure compliant placements into licensed foster homes.

The candidate should have a Master's in a Human Service field or a Bachelor’s with relevant foster care experience, with preference for prior counseling or social work experience and alignment with United Methodist Church

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a Human Service field OR a Bachelor's degree with one year experience in working with clients in foster care.
• Prefer a minimum of four (4) years of experience working with children and families, three (3) of which should be with children in foster care.
• Prefer a minimum of one (1) year in a counseling or social worker capacity.
• Has a belief system and engages in faith practices compatible with United Methodist Church.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all growth activities of the foster care program, including investigations and overseeing placement into licensed foster homes.
• Meet licensing goals for foster parents monthly and placements through screening, logging and referrals.
• Facilitate orientation and interview with prospective foster families.
• Process foster family applications within required time frames (references, SLED, CPS check, medicals, fingerprinting, inspections).
• Conduct licensing studies for foster home applicants at licensure and relicensure.

Position Summary

• Responsible for all growth activities of the foster care program; including conducting foster home investigations utilizing the regulations established by the Department of Social Services and overseeing placement activities of foster children into the licensed foster homes.
• The Intake Coordinator will meet goals established for licensing foster parents monthly and placements of children into licensed foster homes through screening, logging and referring prospective foster family calls.
• Facilitate orientation and interview with prospective foster families.
• Process foster family applications within required time frames (references, SLED, CPS check, medicals, fingerprinting, inspections by Fire Marshal & Dept. of Health)
• Conduct licensing study for foster home applicants at the time of licensure and re-licensure for foster families within case load.
