Job summary

Health Connect America in Virginia seeks a Foster Care Development Specialist to recruit and develop foster families, guide licensing, provide training and support, and strengthen community connections that help children find safe, nurturing homes.

You will build relationships with foster parents and partners, oversee licensing processes, and lead trainings to prepare families for the realities of foster care while ensuring compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field.
• 2+ years of related experience with children and families in a therapeutic setting.
• Excellent communication, public speaking, organization, and documentation skills.
• Ability to build relationships with foster parents, partners, and internal teams.
• Knowledge of family systems and community resources.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and solve problems proactively.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and connect with prospective foster families through community outreach and referrals.
• Guide prospective foster parents from inquiry through licensure, including background checks and training.
• Lead trainings to prepare foster parents for the realities of foster care.
• Develop and support foster families through coaching, resources, and compliance.
• Manage licensing documentation and ensure foster homes meet regulatory standards.
• Build community partnerships to expand safe, nurturing homes for children.
