Palantir Technologies is looking for a Forward Deployed Software Engineer Intern in New York City. In this role, you will work with clients to solve their toughest challenges and design data-driven solutions using Palantir’s platforms.
You'll take on significant responsibilities in diverse teams, tackling real-world projects that directly impact customers. Ideal candidates should have an engineering background and be proficient in one or more programming languages.
A World-Changing Company Palantir builds the world’s leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more.
Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to quickly understand their greatest problems and design and implement solutions using data. Our customers rely on Palantir’s platforms for some of their most critical operations, and projects often start with open-ended questions like “How do we evaluate wildfire risk and optimize a power grid?” or “How do we quickly assess our food supply chain and deliver life‑saving assistance on time?” As an FDSE, you’ll apply problem‑solving, creativity, and technical skills to help organizations use their data to drive real impact in the world.
As an FDSE Intern, your responsibilities resemble those at a small startup, with the resources, stability, and mentorship of an established tech company. You’ll work in small teams with minimal supervision and own end‑to‑end execution of high‑stakes projects. Your day might involve discussing architecture with fellow engineers, wrangling massive‑scale data, coding a custom web app, speaking with customer executives, or establishing strategy for your team. Interns are treated like full‑time engineers, with significant freedom and ownership, and take responsibility for real‑world projects and outcomes that customers rely on.
The estimated salary range for this position is $10,000 per month. Total compensation will be determined by each individual’s qualifications, experience, skills, and other factors. This estimate excludes benefits and potential long‑term incentives.
We want every Palantirian to achieve their best outcomes, celebrating strengths, skills, and interests from first interview to long‑term growth. Health and well‑being are integral to our community, offering various pathways to success across regions. In line with our culture, we believe employees are “better together” and in‑person work fosters connectivity and innovation. Many teams offer hybrid options; some roles allow remote work on an exceptional basis. If the posting is specified as onsite, you are required to work from an office.
Palantir values excellence regardless of background. We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer for all, including veterans and those with disabilities. We are committed to making the hiring process accessible and will provide reasonable accommodation for those living with a disability. If you need an accommodation, please reach out.
Please note that you will never be asked to submit a payment or share financial information to participate in our interview process.
