The Forward Deployed Finance Engineer (Private Credit) partners with sales and customer teams to build, run, and scale private credit underwriting workflows on Harvey's platform. The role runs live pilots, creates demo and workflow templates, and uses hands‑on credit experience to drive product adoption and roadmap decisions.

Role
Harvey is hiring a Forward Deployed Finance Engineer focused on private credit to build the credit playbook (demo library, workflow templates, use cases) and run live pilots. This customer‑facing role translates real underwriting and deal execution work into production‑ready solutions on Harvey Deals and helps shape the product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery, demos, pilots, trainings, onboarding, and custom builds with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers.
- Run live pilots with direct lenders, private credit funds, BDC managers, insurer credit arms, and other credit teams.
- Design and build screening, underwriting, and credit committee workflows using firms’ templates and formats.
- Perform lender presentation and CIM review, QoE/data pack analysis, cash flow and leverage modeling, sizing and structuring, covenant and credit agreement review, and credit memo drafting.
- Support post-close activities including compliance certificate review, covenant tracking, amendment/waiver analysis, and quarterly portfolio reporting.
- Capture customer feedback and translate it into product requirements and roadmap priorities.
- Travel approximately 2–3+ times per month for customer engagements (typically 1–3 days).
Requirements
- 3+ years on the investment or underwriting team at a direct lender, private credit fund, BDC manager, or insurer private credit arm, with principal-side deal execution experience and ownership of live deal work (screening, underwriting, diligence, modeling, structuring, credit committee materials).
- Strong command of lender presentations, CIMs, QoE/data packs, models, credit agreements/intercreditor documents, and compliance certificates; ability to identify discrepancies between numbers and documents.
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; comfort with prompting and agentic AI workflows; a builder’s instinct for turning manual processes into repeatable automations.
- Python, SQL, or internal-tools experience is a plus.
- Executive presence and relationship-building skills; strong communication and presentation abilities for demos, workshops, and technical conversations.
- Customer-facing or commercial experience (LP/investor relations, capital formation, banking coverage, business development) and/or hands‑on experience using AI tools in an investment setting are advantageous.
Compensation
- $254,600 - $381,800 USD OTE (75/25)
Logistics & Other
- This role may require travel around 2–3+ times per month; travel is typically 1–3 days per trip.
