Job summary

EdgeVerve is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic customers in New York. You will ship production-grade code, build integrations, and deliver deployable solutions that accelerate product adoption and measurable business value.

This role emphasizes hands-on engineering, customer collaboration, and acting as the technical point of contact through deployment and ramp-up. Travel to client sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals, production-grade coding.

• Partner with client engineering teams to understand goals and priorities.

• Design and build the custom integrations and product extensions.
• Develop prototypes using customer data to validate feasibility before production delivery.
• Harden prototypes to production-grade reliability and hand off to Support/Customer Success.
• Synthesize field learnings into inputs for Product and Engineering roadmap.
• Serve as the account's trusted technical contact through deployment and ramp-up.

Job description

At EdgeVerve Forward Deployed Engineers embed directly with strategic customers to solve real-world engineering problems, build integrations, extensions, and workflows that accelerate product adoption and business value realization. This is neither a configuration role nor a delivery-consulting role. The role is responsible for shipping production-relevant code on live accounts, with field learnings feeding directly into the product roadmap through a structured feedback loop. The position is suited for engineers who can build deployable solutions quickly and demonstrate measurable customer impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with client engineering teams to understand goals, challenges, and priorities.
• Lead workshops, discovery sessions, solutioning, and technical discussions.
• Analyze customer operating workflows and identify gaps between the deployed product and account-specific requirements
• Design and build the custom integrations, connectors, and product extensions that close that gap
• Develop working prototypes using customer data to validate feasibility before delivery momentum is impactedHarden validated prototypes to production-grade reliability and hand off cleanly to Support/Customer Success
• Synthesize field learnings into concrete, prioritized inputs for Product and Engineering, serving as a primary source of roadmap signal rather than only a delivery resource
• Serve as the account’s trusted technical point of contact through deployment and initial ramp-up

Role Scope:

Standard product configuration and steady-state training are explicitly out of scope beyond the initial ramp-up period. These activities are routed to Service delivery and self-service tooling. If day-to-day work is limited to configuration, the scope should be escalated rather than absorbed within EV FDE role.

Required Profile

• Strong software engineering fundamentals - comfortable owning code in production, not just prototyping
• High tolerance for ambiguity, including the ability to navigate undocumented customer workflows
• Customer-facing instincts - able to build trust with technical and non-technical stakeholders under real deadline pressure
• Willingness to travel or embed for extended stretches (cadence varies by account model)
• Prior experience in an embedded, forward-deployed, or high-ambiguity technical role is preferred but not mandatory; strong engineering, solutions, and consulting backgrounds are also relevant
