Job summary

Climb is seeking an engineer to join our Forward Deployed team, building production data platforms and AI applications for real client environments. You will own components end-to-end, from design through deployment, with autonomy and accountability for the quality of what you ship.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and architects, learning the craft of forward deployment while delivering impact for enterprise clients.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering, data engineering, or technical delivery experience.
• Ability to deliver production-quality software with limited supervision.
• Hands-on experience in one or more: application/backend development, cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP), data pipelines, or LLM apps.
• Strong fundamentals in at least one language (Python/Scala/Java) and SQL.
• Clear communicator: explain what you built and decisions to engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort in someone else's codebase and adapting to client constraints.
• Genuine appetite to learn the client-facing side of the work.

Responsibilities

• Build production data pipelines, LLM applications, agents, and workflow automations meeting spec.
• Own implementation decisions and ensure quality, testing, and reliability.
• Work from a scoped brief to turn requirements into working software.
• Participate in architecture reviews, standups, and working sessions to surface constraints early.
• Raise blockers and scope changes to Senior Engineer or Architect promptly.
• Write documentation and runnable, maintainable code for client handover.
• Engage with client engineers and stakeholders with support from senior Climbers.
• Expand your range by learning new tools and parts of the stack as needed.
