GC AI is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their rapidly growing team. This pivotal role involves working directly with customers to integrate legal AI into their workflows, designing and building critical software components, and troubleshooting integrations in real time.
As one of the first in this position, you will play a vital role in defining the function and shaping the platform's capabilities. Strong programming skills in TypeScript or Python are required, along with experience working directly with customers to deliver solutions.
GC AI is the fastest‑growing and most trusted legal AI platform for in-house legal teams. We’re building the future of legal work, and we’re doing it fast. You’ll join at a pivotal moment—when decisions matter, impact is immediate, and the runway to shape your career is wide open. We’re a high‑performing team where you’ll have real ownership and influence from day one.
More than 1,500 companies use GC AI to drive their business forward, including 150+ public companies, 25+ unicorns, and brands such as News Corp, Miro, Bass Pro Shops, Snyk, Skims, Liquid Death, Vercel, Zscaler, and TIME.
We’ve 10× revenue in 12 months, raised a $60 million Series B ($555 million valuation), and are growing faster than ever. We are backed by incredible investors, including Scale Venture Partners, Northzone, Sound Ventures, and Guillermo Rauch, CEO of Vercel.
If you thrive when the stakes are high and the path isn’t paved, you’ll love it here. Our six guiding principles are: 1% better every day, customer obsession, ship today, find a way, care deeply, and own it completely. Come shape the future of legal work with us.
You’ll be one of GC AI’s first Forward Deployed Engineers, which means you’ll help define the function. You’ll embed directly with customers to help them integrate GC AI into the workflows where legal work actually happens: contract review during procurement, compliance checks in vendor onboarding, automatic redlining before a deal goes out the door.
The work looks different every week. One customer might need a production integration that routes inbound contracts through GC AI before they hit the legal team’s queue. Another might need a workflow that flags non‑standard terms across hundreds of vendor agreements. You’ll spend your time understanding how these organizations operate, writing code, building integrations, debugging issues, and getting customers to production.
You’ll also help shape the platform itself. As you work across deployments, you’ll spot patterns, friction points, and missing capabilities that no one inside the building can see. You’ll bring those insights back to Product and Engineering, and early on, you may build some of those improvements yourself.
This is a founding role. You’ll have the ownership and ambiguity of an early‑stage company, and you’ll be building the playbook for how GC AI deploys with customers, not following a playbook someone else wrote.
We’re building products that help legal teams move faster and have greater impact across their organizations. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with customers, influence the product roadmap, and help define an entirely new category of software. As one of the first people in this role, you’ll play a significant part in shaping both the platform and the team that builds it.
This is a remote role unless you fall within the following parameters. If you live within approximately 50 miles of our San Mateo, CA or Provo, UT office, the position follows a hybrid schedule with in‑office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
