North is a technology company building the AI stack the legal industry runs on. The FDE role embeds on-site with flagship firms, learns their hardest workflows, and ships Claude-powered solutions that actually get used in diligence and memos.
You’ll train partners and lawyers, translate complex processes into firm-specific apps, and own deployments from first build to daily use—driving adoption and feeding insights back to product.
North is a technology company building the AI stack the legal industry runs on. The model is the brain. What makes it stick is everything we build around it: the harness that wires in a firm’s entire corpus, the governed skill library, the agents, and the desktop the firm actually works in. Forward deployed engineering is where that stack meets the real world.
As an FDE you embed with a firm, learn its hardest workflows, and ship frontier AI into daily use. You build, you measure adoption, and you feed everything you learn straight back into the product.
Not "used ChatGPT at work." We mean you live in Claude Code, you’ve built with agents, skills, MCP servers, and subagents, you have opinions about context engineering, and you can make Claude do things most people don’t know are possible. If you’ve spent the last year pushing Claude to its limits on your own projects, that matters more to us than anything on a resume.
Half of this role happens away from the keyboard. You’ll stand in front of a room of partners and make AI click for them. You’ll sit next to an associate and teach until it sticks. The best FDEs are natural educators: they love explaining, they read a room, they build real relationships, and they measure their success by how many lawyers actually adopt what they built. If you’re a brilliant engineer who’d rather not talk to people, this is not your role.
Competitive salary plus early‑stage equity. Discussed during the process.
