Job summary

Cinder, based in NYC, seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to embed with strategic enterprise customers and implement our safety platform in real-time. You will drive adoption of AI-powered protection, diagnose safety issues, and collaborate with customers and agencies to ensure robust, scalable results.

You will thrive in a fast-growing SaaS environment, partnering with enterprise teams, applying safety engineering know-how, and shaping how AI safety is delivered across large platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in CS, SE, IS or equivalent work experience.
• Experience as Forward Deployed Engineer or similar in fast-moving SaaS.
• Strong safety engineering/operations background.
• Proven ability to partner with large enterprise customers.
• Familiar with AI/LLM-powered tools and safety workflows.
• Excellent collaboration and listening skills.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Transform internet platform safety by embedding directly with our most strategic enterprise customers to implement Cinder.
• Drive adoption of cutting-edge user protection measures at today’s largest and most popular internet platforms
• Work directly with strategic customers to rapidly diagnose and solve their safety problems with technical and strategic solutions
• Serve as the subject matter expert on Cinder’s platform and Trust and Safety practices for customers as well as industry and government agencies
• Address technical challenges (bugs, missing feature, last mile-development, etc) or collaborate with our engineering and product teams to efficiently hand off projects.
• Collaborate with Customer Success to effectively triage and prioritize feedback from thousands of Cinder users.
• Contribute to the growth and success of the Engineering and Customer Success organizations

What We're Looking For

• You have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience
• You've been a Forward Deployed Engineer, software engineer, solutions engineer, sales engineer (or any other relevant title) in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• You possess a strong understanding of safety engineering and/or safety operations via firsthand experience in the space.
• Alternatively, you’ve been an early technical hire (FDE, solutions engineer, or similar) at a high-growth SaaS company and successfully partnered with large enterprise customers to deploy technical solutions at scale.
• You have perfected the ability to collaborate effectively with enterprise-level customers and navigate complex organizational structures.
• You maintain deep familiarity with AI/LLM-powered tools and AI agents, and the ability to guide customers on how to deploy them effectively in safety and investigation workflows.
• You are exceptionally comfortable with ambiguity and repeatedly take initiative — you thrive when dropped into unfamiliar situations, learning quickly, and finding ways to deliver value.
• You are a great team player who deeply values the power of working together
• You are an excellent listener who sees every interaction as a chance to learn

Nice to have

• You have been a product owner or engineer within a Trust & Safety, Integrity, or Fraud organization
• Fluency in enterprise data architecture and/or AI safety
• The more comfortable you are with enterprise data architecture and artificial intelligence, the better

Location & Benefits

Compensation Range: $165K - $235K
