Quanta Services, Inc. seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical consultant embedded in high-speed projects.

You will design, prototype, and deploy AI-powered solutions centered on our Databricks Lakehouse platform, collaborating with leaders, domain experts, and engineers across energy infrastructure, operations, finance, and safety. This role emphasizes speed, adaptability, and AI-driven development workflows to accelerate delivery and impact while ensuring robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS, engineering, IS, or related field.
• 5–10 years in software development, systems integration, or technical consulting.
• 2+ years hands-on Databricks experience in an enterprise setting.

Responsibilities

• Interact with internal stakeholders to understand needs and translate them into prototypes and solutions.
• Design, prototype, and deploy AI, applications, and automation on our Databricks Lakehouse platform.
• Build integrations, apps, and scripts across cloud services and enterprise systems.
• Document learnings and stay current with emerging AI tools.

About this Role

The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) is a hands-on technical consultant embedded in some of Quanta's most innovative and fast-moving projects. You will partner with business leaders, domain experts, and engineers to design, prototype, and deploy real-world solutions focused on AI, applications, and automation build around our enterprise Databricks Lakehouse platform. From domain-specific chatbots to internal tooling and backend process automation, you'll work across a wide range of business and technical domains-energy infrastructure, operations, finance, safety, logistics, and more. This role emphasizes speed, adaptability, and using AI-powered development workflows to accelerate delivery and impact.

What You'll Do

Engage directly with internal stakeholders and operating units to understand technical needs and business prioritiesTranslate requirements into working software prototypes and full-featured solutionsUse AI-assisted tools for code generation, automation, data analysis, and research accelerationBuild integrations, applications, and scripts across cloud services, APIs, and enterprise systemsIterate rapidly on solutions with continuous feedback from subject matter expertsDeploy applications to production environments and provide post-deployment supportDocument learnings, design decisions, and reusable components to support scale and knowledge-sharingStay current with emerging AI tools and technologies-and help bring them into use across Quanta's ecosystem

What You'll Bring

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field- 5-10 years of experience in software development, systems integration, or technical consultingLicenses / Certifications:- None required- Cloud certifications or AI/ML specializations are a plusKnowledge and Skills:- 2+ Years hands on experience with Databricks in an enterprise setting- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Java, Go)- Strong problem-solving mindset with a consultative approach- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern development practices (CI/CD, containers, APIs)- Experience using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or similar for development workflows- Ability to learn new technologies and domain contexts quickly- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across disciplines
