Job summary

EY is seeking a Data Engineer for its Advanced Forward Engineering team, embedded with clients to deliver AI-ready data systems. You will own data readiness, design ingest/transform patterns, and ensure governance and security in regulated environments.

You’ll collaborate with delivery engineers to enable reliable AI workflows and resolve data quality or integration issues in production deployments. The role emphasizes forward deployment and client-facing collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years in data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering roles.
• Hands-on data pipelines experience in cloud or hybrid environments.
• Experience with relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, or enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with data modeling, transformation frameworks, and API-driven data access.
• Experience navigating data governance, security, and compliance constraints.
• Ability to collaborate with application engineers in delivery-focused teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as data owner within an AFE delivery pod to prevent data bottlenecks.
• Design ingestion, transformation, and access patterns for AI integration.
• Ensure data pipelines meet governance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Implement data interfaces and contracts for deployment templates.
• Partner with Forward Deployed Software Engineers to enable AI workflows.
• Diagnose data quality, schema drift, and integration issues.
• Contribute reusable data patterns to improve pod repeatability.
• Support validation, testing, and deployment across dev to prod environments.
