Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Forward Deployed Engineering Manager (FDE Manager) to lead a pod of 5–15 engineers embedded with strategic enterprise customers. You will own delivery across engagements, drive technical direction, and ensure production excellence while developing your team's careers and aligning with AWS standards.

The role requires a US Citizenship with TS/SCI clearance and Polygraph, extensive leadership in fast-paced environments, and a proven track record in AI/ML production pipelines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• 3+ years of experience in Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environments.
• Experience communicating technical concepts to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
• Experience building or deploying AI/ML applications in production at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead FDE pod delivery across one or more engagements and staff the team for coverage.
• Provide technical oversight, review architecture, and unblock blockers.
• Ensure production readiness and raise the operational bar within scope.
• Hire, develop, and retain FDE talent and drive career growth.
• Identify opportunities to expand AI adoption within customer engagements.
