Job summary

Bachoco USA in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Floating Plant Help Desk Technician (2nd Shift) to support the technology environment across the Fort Smith and nearby plants. The role involves configuring end-user devices, troubleshooting Windows and other software, and maintaining IT inventory and knowledgebases.

Ideal candidates have an Associate degree or equivalent, plus two or more years in help desk support, with ability to travel to plant locations and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and/or related experience required.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office essential.
• Strong PC hardware and basic networking knowledge expected.
• Experience with help desk ticketing and IT knowledgebase systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Configure and install client equipment for end users (desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, MFPs, projectors, TVs, desk phones, cell phones).
• Assist IT with servers, switches, routers, wireless APs, UPS, and security cameras.
• Support plant-specific computer systems and travel to Fort Smith, AR and nearby facilities.
• Upgrade software and OS with security patches and document changes in knowledgebase.
• Operate in on-call 24/7 support rotation and handle help desk requests.

Summary: Provide support for the technology environment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, and installing hardware and software solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Configure and install client equipment for end users. Includes desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, MFPs, Projectors, TVs, Desk phones, and cell phones.
• Assists other areas of IT with the installation and troubleshooting of Servers, switches, routers, wireless access points, UPS, and Security Cameras.
• Support various third-party vendors with plant specific computer systems.
• Replace or install network cable between offices and network cabinets.
• Troubleshoot all issues with client devices and software including Windows OS, Microsoft Office products, and various software applications.
• Routinely upgrade software and operating systems with latest security patches.
• Document hardware locations and configurations with IT inventory system.
• Use Help Desk ticket system to track all support requests.
• Review and document all changes or new processes in IT knowledgebase system.
• Travel and work within office areas, poultry plant, and feed plant locations
• Requires a flexible schedule to support Fort Smith, AR, Muldrow, OK, and Heavener, OK facilities in production 24/7 as well as to participate in an on-call 24/7 support rotation.
• Will be trained to use scissor lift to aid in support.
• This is a safety sensitive position.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registration: Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to qualify for the company driver program.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of all Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and a very good understanding of PC, Printer and Networking hardware.

Other Qualifications: Performs all aspects of the job with little assistance from others. Demonstrates a positive and helpful attitude in all aspects of the position and is able to perform all help desk related tasks with minimal guidance. Makes an effort to stay current in the computer science field. Must have two or more years of experience in the help desk function before being considered for promotion to the next level. Complies with O.K. Foods policies and procedures.
