Job summary

Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. is seeking an Independent contractor Laboratory Technician to support the Global Innovation Center. The role requires executing SOP-driven lab tasks, maintaining data integrity, and delivering timely documentation under supervisor guidance.

Responsibilities include sample prep, coating application, and equipment operation with strict adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. Strong data recording and Microsoft 365 skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in chemical/life-science, or equivalent industrial lab experience executing SOP-driven work.
• Strong documentation discipline and attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Demonstrated safety record; knowledge of EHS practices, chemical hygiene, and waste handling.

Responsibilities

• Execute pre-approved experimental runs, sample preparation, and coating application, including, but not limited to, electrocoat, primer, basecoat, and clearcoat, strictly per written methods and parameters.
• Operate mixing and spray/application equipment after training/qualification; follow documented set-up, verification/calibration, operation, and shutdown steps.
• Collect and record raw data, measurements, and environmental conditions in approved templates/systems (e.g., Excel, Word, Teams); submit completed data and documentation on schedule.
• Perform routine equipment checks and preventive maintenance per instruction; document results and escalate issues immediately.
• Handle, label, store, segregate, and dispose of chemicals per EHS procedures and regulatory requirements; maintain required records.
• Maintain inventory of assigned chemicals/consumables; request replenishment via defined process; use only approved materials and tools.

Work is performed under approved procedures, methods, and work orders, with strong emphasis on safety, data integrity, compliance, and on-time delivery.
