Precision Castparts Corp. in the Los Angeles area is seeking an entry-level Forming Operator- Level 1. You will work under supervision to perform basic forming tasks, read prints, and verify parts with scales and calipers, using basic tools and fixtures.

The role emphasizes learning on the job, with a 2nd shift schedule and potential overtime. Compensation includes an hourly base plus a 2nd shift differential and quarterly incentive opportunities.

2nd Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM

Paid On-The-Job Training Schedule: 8 - 12 weeks on 1st shift (5:00 AM - 1:30 PM)

Compensation Range *dependent on experience*: $20/h - $24/h + $2/h 2nd shift differential + quarterly incentive bonus + overtime opportunities

Position Summary:

The Forming Operator- Level 1 is an entry level position requiring significant supervision to perform a variety of basic level forming tasks. These tasks require basic competencies in determining the right tool for the job, reading technical documents, prints and work instructions, using templates, jigs and fixtures to execute forming operations to customer specifications. In addition, level one forming operators will use basic hand tools and hand held measuring tools such as scales, micrometers and calipers to verify part dimensions. Typically 0-1 years of experience required with evidence of strong mechanical aptitude.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• With direct supervision, perform a verity of basic forming tasks such as loading raw material onto fixtures, jigs and presses.
• Perform basic material forming operations using basic forming equipment and tools according to customer specification.
• Perform basic inspection operations to insure component material forming to customer specification.
• Maintain area organization and cleanliness through-out shift.

Required Skills:

• The ability to use basic hand tools as well as Air/Power tools.
• The ability to use basic inspection tools such as scales, micrometers, calipers and feeler gauges to complete required inspection procedures.

Required Experience:

• This position requires basic experience working with mechanical processes and methods such as hand tools, and light equipment such as drills and pneumatic tools, presses and heat treating ovens.
• 0-1 years of experience

Level of Education:

• GED or High School diploma preferred but not required.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $20.00 to $24.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 104 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
