Job summary

Green Bay Packaging is seeking a motivated production operator to support continuous manufacturing in our De Pere facility. You will change products and raw materials and feed forming machinery.

This role emphasizes quality inspections, adherence to GMP and safety procedures, and routine maintenance; overtime and weekend work may be required.

Applicable candidates should have basic mechanical aptitude and strong English communication; a high school diploma is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on mechanical reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with automated production systems and machine interfaces.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication.
  • Ability to monitor production metrics and maintain quality.
  • Prior manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently perform product item, raw material, and roll changes to maintain continuous production flow.
  • Continually feed raw materials into forming machinery during production runs to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct regular visual and physical quality inspections throughout each run to ensure all products strictly meet customer and company standards.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance, cleaning, and basic operational machine adjustments.
  • Adhere strictly to Direct Food Contact procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and facility safety protocols.
  • Identify mechanical issues, clear material jams, and adjust operational settings to resolve equipment line disruptions.
What will help you stand out?
  • Strong hands-on mechanical reasoning, troubleshooting skills, and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfort working with automated systems, digital machine control interfaces, and production management tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English, alongside basic computation skills for tracking production metrics.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage work tasks independently while contributing to department goals.

Prior manufacturing or machine operating experience is preferred, though candidates with strong mechanical aptitudes are encouraged to apply.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift materials throughout an 8-hour shift in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and continuous safety standards on the production floor.
Work Schedule
Must be willing to work either
  • 2nd Shift (Monday - Friday 2pm - 10pm) after training.

OR

  • 3rd Shift (Sunday - Thursday 10pm - 6am) after training.

Training: Day shift (6am -2pm, Monday-Friday) for up to 120 days

Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required.
