CAMINUS, an Indianapolis-based lithium-ion cell manufacturer, is seeking a Formation and Testing Technician to run formation, aging and electrical testing of cells to meet quality and safety specs before module assembly or shipment. You will operate cyclers, monitor cycles, and record data in MES systems.

You will follow safety procedures, handle damaged cells, perform basic equipment checks, support process engineers and contribute to continuous improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED; 2+ years in manufacturing, lab or test environment preferred.
• Ability to handle parts carefully to avoid damage, scratches or recontamination.
• Follow written work instructions, procedures and checklists precisely.
• Proficient computer use and data entry for MES and logs.
• Work independently and as part of a team; strong safety mindset.
• Stand/walk for extended periods; wear required PPE and follow safety rules.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Load/unload cells into formation and grading equipment per instructions.

• Sort/bin cells by results; tag non-conforming cells.
• Record data in MES and logs; flag trends to engineering/QA.
• Perform basic equipment checks, calibration verification, cleaning.
• Follow lithium-ion safety procedures for damaged cells and hazards.
• Support process engineers with trials and root-cause investigations.
• Maintain 5S and contribute to continuous-improvement efforts.
• Complete shift handoffs with status notes and counts.

Job Description

The Formation and Testing Technician runs the formation, aging and electrical testing of lithium-ion cells at CAMINUS, making sure every cell meets quality and safety specifications before it moves to module assembly or shipment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cells into formation and grading equipment (cyclers, racks, trays) following work instructions.
• Start, monitor and close formation, charge/discharge, capacity grading and aging cycles; respond to alarms and equipment faults.
• Run electrical tests such as open-circuit voltage (OCV), AC internal resistance (ACIR), DC internal resistance (DCIR) and self-discharge checks.
• Sort and bin cells by test results; segregate and tag non-conforming or suspect cells.
• Record test data in the MES and production logs; flag trends or out-of-spec results to engineering and quality.
• Perform basic equipment checks, calibration verification, cleaning and first-level troubleshooting; elevate issues to maintenance.
• Follow lithium-ion safety procedures, including handling of damaged cells, thermal events and hazardous materials.
• Support process engineers with trials, new product introduction and root-cause investigations.
• Keep the work area organized using 5S and contribute to continuous-improvement efforts.
• Complete shift handoffs with clear notes on equipment status, open issues and production counts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED. 2+ year in a manufacturing, lab or test environment preferred.
• Ability to handle parts carefully to avoid damage, scratches or recontamination.
• Ability to follow written work instructions and procedures, checklists and verbal directions.
• Ability to work with a computer proficiently, performing data entry.
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow safety and quality procedures strictly.
• Ability and willingness to wear required PPE, including gloves, safety glasses, protective clothing and shoes.
• Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
