Carter Lumber is hiring a Yard Associate in Charleston, SC. You will assist contractors and DIY customers with selecting and loading orders, pull and stage materials, and keep the yard organized.

Training available for forklift operation to ensure safe, efficient handling. Ideal candidates have customer-service experience, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to work as part of a team outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• A friendly personality helps in daily interactions with contractors and DIY customers.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful for quick order loading and guidance.
• Ability to be a team player and work outside in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with selection and loading of orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Help maintain yard inventory with cycle counts.
• Keep the yard organized and clean; operate a forklift as trained.
