About the Role

Environmental Services is looking for a dependable, safety-focused Forklift Operator / Yard Driver to support our warehouse and yard operations.

This is a hands-on material-handling position responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, staging, and organizing materials throughout the facility and yard. The Forklift Operator / Yard Driver will operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment, maintain accurate material-movement records, and help ensure the warehouse and yard remain organized and efficient.

The position may also assist with moving trailers, containers, equipment, or other materials throughout the facility or yard based on operational needs.

Candidates with previous experience in forklift operation, yard driving, warehousing, shipping and receiving, manufacturing, production, logistics, or industrial environments are encouraged to apply.

What You Will Be Doing

Key responsibilities and functions may include, but are not limited to:

Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, stage, and organize materials.

Move trailers, containers, equipment, or materials throughout the facility and yard as required.

Verify materials, quantities, and locations while completing material movements.

Stage materials and equipment to support warehouse, production, shipping, and operational needs.

Complete required pre-shift equipment inspections and report damaged, unsafe, or malfunctioning equipment.

Maintain accurate material-movement, inventory, activity, and completed-work records.

Safely stack, position, retrieve, and organize materials in designated warehouse and yard locations.

Maintain organized travel paths, loading areas, staging locations, and work areas.

Monitor surrounding equipment, vehicles, and pedestrian traffic while operating powered equipment.

Perform basic operator-level equipment care, including fueling or charging equipment and maintaining clean equipment.

Communicate material locations, inventory discrepancies, equipment concerns, and operational issues to the appropriate team members.

Meet daily productivity and material-handling expectations while maintaining accuracy and safe work practices.

Assist with general warehouse, yard, shipping and receiving, or material-handling duties as needed.

What We're Looking For

Previous forklift, powered industrial truck, yard driving, or material-handling experience.

Previous experience in warehouse, shipping and receiving, manufacturing, logistics, production, or industrial environments is preferred.

Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment in warehouse and yard environments.

Ability to safely load, unload, stage, stack, and organize materials.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work procedures, and material-handling requirements.

Ability to maintain accurate inventory and material-movement records.

Strong awareness of surroundings when working around pedestrians, vehicles, equipment, and other workplace hazards.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable attendance and the ability to maintain a consistent work pace throughout the shift.

Must successfully complete required company and/or site-specific forklift training and operator evaluation.

Valid driver's license required for positions involving operation of yard vehicles or other company vehicles.

Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to frequently walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, push, pull, squat, and climb throughout the shift.

Ability to enter and exit forklifts, yard vehicles, and other equipment repeatedly throughout the workday.

Ability to lift and move materials, equipment, and components weighing up to 50 lbs.

Ability to work safely around forklifts, trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and moving materials.

Ability to work in warehouse, industrial, and outdoor yard environments.

Ability to work in environments that may include varying temperatures, loud noise, dust, heavy machinery, and other industrial conditions.

Ability to hear and distinguish workplace instructions and emergency signals.

Ability to adjust to changing material-handling and operational priorities while maintaining safe work practices.

Ability to successfully complete applicable pre-employment and workplace substance-abuse screening requirements.

Required PPE and job-specific equipment will be provided along with the training necessary to perform the work safely.
