Alta Warehousing & Logistics in Wilmer, TX is seeking a Forklift Operator to ensure accurate and timely handling of goods. You will load/unload tractor-trailer trucks, label and ship orders, and move products with a forklift, following client contracts and safety procedures.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years forklift experience, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and must pass a background check. The role offers hourly pay from $18.30 to $22.00 and a comprehensive benefits package including

As a Forklift Operator, your role is essential in ensuring the accurate and timely handling of goods within our facility. Your responsibilities include the receipt, labeling, and shipping of orders, all in accordance with client requirements and contracts. • Typical Hours: 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM, Monday – Friday (must have the flexibility to work the occasional Saturday)
• Load and unload tractor-trailer trucks using a forklift.
• Move product and materials with forklift from/to designated locations.
• Use wireless Bluetooth scanning equipment to ensure accuracy of inventory.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to shipping, receiving, and safety.
• Responsible for meeting productivity requirements.
• Perform miscellaneous activities as directed to support the efficient operation of the warehouse.
• Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company.
• Inspect forklifts and other material handling equipment prior to use.
• Identify safety hazards in the workplace.
• Inspect each pallet and or case for proper quantities, items brands, lot codes (as applicable), and damages and follow any special instructions and /or additional documentation.
• Communicate problems, concerns and ideas to supervision and management. Identify process improvements.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong working knowledge of warehouse operational procedures.
• Effective communication skills, speaking, and active listening.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills, ability to prioritize projects and handle interruptions. Strong sense of urgency.
• In-depth understanding of company best practices.
• Prior experience using warehouse management software (WMS) and other computer applications.

Job Requirements:

• All candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a forklift operator, often 3-5 years.
• Good attendance and punctuality: must show up on time and work scheduled shifts.
• Must have the ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
